Night light is our good company when we go the sleep, but this night light is even better, I really love the animal design collection, specaily when they light up in the dark. It' s a warm and creative design for the night light I have seen. And I'm glad designer Amit  Sturlesi willing to share his story with us today…..

Q:  Would you share with us how you started to create your art work? 

I was looking for a clean aesthetic solution for emergency office lights. Looking around and exploring, I found that we could use picture frames and LED's for emitting 

light onto etched acrylic glass panels. Adding a humoristic twist to the sketches on the panels would do the trick. Later on we tried to minimise expenses while looking and exploring 

new ways to sustain the light. We found that with concrete we could manufacture the lamp bases ourselves in order to cut costs. The results are endless drawing variations on the acrylic glass. 

Q: What is your working schedule like?  

Usually 10:00 – 19:00, however ideas and inspirations work 24/7

Q: Which type of material do you like to use the most and why?

Concrete. Something about using industrial materials for small aesthetic products give me great satisfaction.

Q: Where does your inspiration come from?

The World 

Q: Do you remember when you sold your first item and how you felt?

To a friend. Felt weird mostly 🙂 

Q: What's the hardest part of your design career?

Marketing my products

Q: Which part of working do you enjoy the most?

The conceptual part, developing new products.

Q: What it your next project?

An awesome (but different) lamp

Q: What kind of books do you like to read, and what kind of music do you like? 

Hobbies would be biking and snowboarding. Also going to the beach at winter, best place for clearing my thoughts.

Q: If you were not a designer, what do you think you would be?

Professional mountain biker
